Thank you for your interest in Community acupuncure.
It is with great excitement that I write these words. There are so many reasons that we have chosen to offer this service. Dr Johnson and I both believe that one of the key elements required to experience optimal health and healing is to have a connection to community. That is why we named our joint venture "Healing Home Community Acupuncture." We truly hope the community acupuncture space here will become just that, a space for healing, for the clients who come for care here.
Another reason that we decided to offer this type of acupunture was in order to create an acupuncture treatment option that was more affordable. A more affordable service option creates the opportunity for many more people to be able to receive the benefits of acupunture. We have set it up so that the cost of receiving community acupuncture with us is similar (or possiblely even lower) than an insurance "co-payment."
Traditional acupuncture sessions can be expensive, limiting the number of visits an individual can afford. In contrast, our community acupuncture operates on a sliding scale. This also allows our clients to receive treatment frequently. When someone is starting acupuncture treatments for the the first time, or if they have a new injury, a person may need more frequent visits to really experience the full benefit. The affordabilty of the community acupuncture means a client has the option to come two or three times a week for the first few weeks. Others may find once a week or once every other weeks works well for them. Over time, as healing occurs a person may only need to come once a month or a few times a year.
Additionally, the communal environment itself offers unique benefits. When multiple clients receive acupuncture together, they witness the shared experience of healing. This can reduce feelings of isolation often associated with health challenges. The tranquil setting of our community acupuncture room encourages relaxation and promotes a peaceful atmosphere.
When we began to consider offering this service, we discovered that Eastern Massachusetts had community acupuncture practices in Cambridge, Somerville, and Hyde Park. However, in Stoughton and the surrounding area, there were no such practices. Dr Mitzi Johnson (director of Whole person Health LLC) is another medical acupuncturist working in Stoughton. Together we came to realize that our local area had a need for a community acupuncture practice and providing this kind of healing space felt right to both of us.
In June of 2026 we opened the doors to our joint venture called "Healing Home Community Acupuncture" Please click here if you would like to schedule an appointment. You can also enter your email address below and I will contact you with more information. Visits are on a sliding scale between $35 and $75. The first visit involves a more detailed history and takes about 20 min longer and includes a one time additional $15 paperwork fee. I hope we will see you at Healing Home Community Acupuncture soon!
